Proposal #2
Is technology ruining our interactions with others?
Through photos I will attempt to present the theme that technology is ruining our social interactions with others. I will photograph people, including friends and family, at different places such as restaurants, parks and our homes to show that instead of communicating with those around us, people are constantly on their phones. This makes one wonder what things would be like if we weren't always glued to our cells phones.
Proposal #1
The Day in the Life of a New Mom and her Baby:
Lots of work goes into caring for a baby everyday. Through photos I can express how much work it takes to look after a baby by presenting the daily routine of a mom. The situations I plan on photographing include; feeding, diaper changing, burping, bathing, stroller rides, and comforting a baby to sleep. I will take these photos of my new nephew and sister-in-law on multiple occasions to give you the ultimate feel of what its like to be a new mom caring for a newborn baby.

I found this photo to be mysteriously intriguing. The little boy is the subject and his surroundings are interesting. I like the light and shadow, as well as the composition of black and white. The boy's head sticks out to me because the rest of his body is dark making him hard to miss even though he is a very small element within the photo. The horizontal and vertical lines draw my attention towards the center underneath the train tracks. This photo evokes curiosity. The little boy left alone under the train tracks makes you question whether this a poor boy with no one to watch after him, or on the other hand, maybe he is just out exploring and seeking some shade under there.

This photo was my favorite. The subject of the photo is obviously the diver, who is also the subject for all the men who are watching him as he jumps in the middle of their circle. The composition brings my eye to the frozen motion and I like how the water is captured in mid-air as the men around the diver splash as they are trying to get away from him. The little heads sticking out of the pool in the background are nicely contrasted with the water that surrounds them. Unlike the other photo I critiqued, the mood presented in this photo is playful or humorous.
